Maddie Cononge

Maddie Cononge grew up dancing in Morgantown, West Virginia and started taking ballet classes at age 14. She attended summer programs such as Governor’s School for the Arts, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, Pittsburgh Youth Ballet, Broadway Dance Center, American Ballet Theater Collegiate, and Ballet Magnificat. Maddie studied dance at West Virginia University before moving to Orlando, Florida to be a performer at the Walt Disney World Resort in 2020. Maddie’s favorite performance roles include The State Theatre Center for the Arts’ production of The Nutcracker, as well as a restaging of Paul Taylor’s “Esplanade” at WVU’s mainstage production of Dance Now

In 2021, Maddie moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and worked as a teaching artist at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. Maddie is passionate about educating the next generation of dancers, and is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has completed training for Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. Maddie has taught and choreographed for many Pittsburgh-area dance studios, and currently works with the competition team at Premier Dance Academy.
