Jaden Murphy was born in Pittsburgh, PA and was raised in West Palm Beach, FL. She began her dance training in Florida around the age of 10, training at Southern Dance Theatre, under the direction of Julie Bravata and Penni Greenly. Murphy attended Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, with Jan Hanniford and Heather Lescialle, Deans of the department. She had the privilege of working with Melissa Rector, Jennifer Archibald, Christopher Huggins, Levi Marsmann, Margo Sappington and many more amazing guest artists. There she graduated in 2017 after training in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Graham, Horton, Limon, and Broadway Jazz. She spent most of her summers at Orlando Ballet and Point Park University. Jaden returned to Pittsburgh to continue her studies at Point Park University where she received a Bachelors in Fine Arts (BFA) in the Spring of 2021 graduating Magna Cum Laude, with a concentration in Ballet and a minor in Entrepreneurship. There she had the honor of working with artists such as Amy Hall Garner, Julia Erikson, Jason McDole, Jay Kirk, Rocker Verastique, Kiesha Lalama, Kiki Lucas, Susan Stowe, and countless others. Murphy’s performance experience include “La Bayadere”, “Swan Lake”, “Les Sylphide”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Nutcracker”, and many more contemporary ballet works. After graduation, she received and accepted an apprenticeship with Pittsburgh’s newest ballet company, Confluence Ballet Company. Jaden is now in her third season with Confluence Ballet Company, and is entering her second season as a Company Artist. Over the past three years, she has also found a love for choreographing. This past April, she choreographed and set her first original, professional piece on Confluence Ballet Company called, “Energia”. This piece premiered at The New Hazlett Theatre, and was also performed at the Byham Theatre for Pittsburgh Musical Theatre’s end of the year showcase. Jaden hopes to continue to make an impact in the Pittsburgh community and to her students while she is actively pursuing her passion!
